Solver: AI Study Companion ("the app") is operated by Cool With Tech ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: coolwithtech@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier and, if you share it, your name and email.
- Learning profile: your education level, subjects, goals and preferences you choose during setup.
- Your study content: questions you type or dictate, photos and PDFs you upload, tutor conversations, study sets, quizzes, exam dates in the planner, and classes you join.
- Answers you publish: if you choose to publish an answer in Explore, it is shown to other students with your first name only.
- Purchases: your subscription status and transaction identifiers. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
- Device and usage data: app interactions, crash reports, device type, operating system, and advertising identifiers where you allow them.
How we use it
- To provide the app: solving and explaining questions, creating study material, the AI tutor, study plans and your history.
- To manage your account, credits and subscription.
- To keep the community safe, including reviewing published answers and acting on reports.
- To fix problems and improve the app, using analytics and crash reports.
- To show ads to students on the free plan. Subscribers do not see ads.
AI processing
Questions, photos, documents and tutor messages are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate answers. Anthropic processes this content on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. AI answers can contain mistakes, so please check important work.
Voice input
When you use the microphone button, your speech is converted to text by your device's speech recognition service (Apple or Google). We receive only the resulting text.
Advertising and tracking
Free-plan students may see ads from Google AdMob. On iPhone and iPad we ask for permission before using your advertising identifier for tracking, and you can change this anytime in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Where required, we ask for consent for personalized ads, and you can choose non-personalized ads. Ads shown in the app are limited to content suitable for general audiences.
Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the app, under contracts that limit how they use it:
- Anthropic (AI answers)
- Supabase (database and file storage) and Railway (servers)
- Google Firebase (analytics and crash reports) and Google AdMob (ads)
- Adapty, Apple and Google (subscriptions and payments)
- Apple and Google (sign-in, if you use it)
We do not sell your personal information.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account anytime in the app under Profile > Delete account; this permanently removes your account, questions, uploads and chats. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data or for deletion. Crash and analytics data kept by our providers expires on their standard schedules.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
The app is a study tool for students aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or California law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to or restrict some processing. Contact us at coolwithtech@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change and update the date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
