Privacy Policy (Android)
Solver: AI Study Companion · Last updated October 1, 2026
This policy covers the Android version of Solver: AI Study Companion ("the app"), available on Google Play and operated by Cool With Tech ("we", "us"). It explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: coolwithtech@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Personal info: your name, email address and an account ID. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name and email. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash.
- Learning profile (other info): your education level, subjects, goals and preferences, which you choose during setup.
- Photos and files: photos of questions and PDF documents that you choose to upload.
- Your study content (user-generated content): questions you type or dictate, tutor conversations, study sets, quizzes, exam dates in the planner, classes you join, and answers you choose to publish in Explore (shown to other students with your first name only).
- Purchase history: your subscription status and transaction identifiers. Payments are processed by Google Play; we never see your card details.
- App activity: how you use the app, such as screens visited and features used.
- App info and performance: crash logs and diagnostics such as performance data.
- Device or other IDs: your device's Android advertising ID and similar identifiers, used for ads.
- Approximate location: a rough location derived from your IP address by our advertising partner. We do not collect precise (GPS) location.
We do not collect your contacts, SMS, call logs, calendar, health data, browsing history, installed apps or precise location.
How we use it
- App functionality: solving and explaining questions, creating study material, the AI tutor, study plans and your history.
- Account management: creating your account, signing you in, and managing your credits and subscription.
- Personalization: matching explanations and suggestions to your level and subjects.
- Analytics: understanding how the app is used, fixing crashes and improving features.
- Advertising: showing ads to students on the free plan. Premium subscribers do not see ads.
- Fraud prevention and security: protecting accounts, credits and ads from abuse.
Data shared with third parties
Students on the free plan see ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure these ads and to prevent ad fraud, AdMob receives your advertising ID, approximate location (from your IP address), app interactions with ads, and diagnostic information. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads, and you can choose non-personalized ads. Ads in the app are limited to content suitable for general audiences.
We do not sell your personal information.
Your advertising choices
You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your phone's Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Settings > Google > Ads, depending on your device). Deleting it stops apps from using it for personalized ads. Subscribing to Premium removes ads entirely.
Service providers
These providers process data on our behalf, only to run the app, under contracts that limit how they use it:
- Anthropic: generates AI answers from your questions, photos, documents and tutor messages. It does not use this content to train its models.
- Supabase (database and file storage) and Railway (servers).
- Google Firebase: analytics and crash reports.
- Adapty and Google Play: subscriptions and payments.
- Google: Sign in with Google, if you use it.
AI answers can contain mistakes, so please check important work.
Voice input
When you use the microphone button, your speech is converted to text by your device's speech recognition service (Google). We receive only the resulting text, never the audio. The app asks for microphone permission only when you first use this feature.
Permissions
To take a photo or pick an image or PDF, the app opens your phone's own camera or file picker, and only the item you choose is shared with the app. The app requests these permissions:
- Microphone: for voice input, only when you tap the microphone.
- Internet: to reach our servers.
- Advertising ID: for ads on the free plan.
Security
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and its data at any time:
- In the app: Profile > Delete account. This permanently removes your account, questions, uploads, chats and study material.
- By email: write to coolwithtech@gmail.com from your account's email address with the subject "Delete my account". We will delete it within 30 days.
Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel it in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions. Analytics, crash and advertising data held by our providers expires on their standard retention schedules.
Children
The app is a study tool for students aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to or restrict some processing. Contact us at coolwithtech@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change and update the date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
